Tufted Rug Care
Like any rug, a tufted rug will get dirty and deteriorate over time. To give your custom rug the longest life it’s best to follow these general guidelines.
Keep your rug out of direct sunlight.
Rotate the tufted rug regularly if possible to avoid fading or edge use.
Spot clean immediately for any stains or otherwise.
Only consider your tufted rug to be a display rug, and avoid high traffic areas.
If required place rug underlay/anti-slip to avoid the rug moving.
Avoid direct sunlight as it will fade your tufted rug.
Air out your rug regularly if you life in a humid indoor environment.
Only vacuum your tufted rug on the lowest level where possible, high suction can damage it.
Is your tufted rug acrylic, wool or another material?
All rugs custom made at Rocé Rugs are either made with acrylic or wool yarn, acrylic yarn is the cheaper option and extra care is required to give it a long life. Wool yarn is the more hardy option but still requires care to give it the longest life possible.
Should my tufted rug be in a high traffic area ?
The short answer is no, all custom tufted rugs should be considered display items unless you have specified that you require it for a high traffic area. Where possible you should avoid walking on your display rug to give it the longest life and keep the design looking as close to original as possible.
Can I vacuum my tufted rug?
You can vacuum your tufted rug but it is best to vacuum on the lowest suction level to avoid unnecessary damage and material fray.
